NELS is a leading provider of custom GIS solutions for the rail industry.  Our GIS Team has extensive expertise with ESRI, Google Earth and other GIS platforms.  We develop:  custom web-based applications, custom data layers and geo-databases.  Utilizing our proprietary GIS models, we conduct rail routing analysis, route capacity analysis, network performance analysis and optimization analytics.

We have extensive GIS data assets covering the entire North American Rail Network that provides extensive geo-coded, empirical information under the track, on the track, adjacent to the track.  NELS GIS platform integrates and consolidates virtually any GIS data source to provide integrated views, including real-time information ranging from real-time railcar, vehicle and locomotive location to environmental and geo-political attributes of specific rail lines and routes.

NELS GPS and GIS capabilities are vendor neutral.  We can utilize any GPS data capture device and are focused on the use of the data rather than the sale of hardware.

Our solutions operate 24 x 7 and can handle heavy volumes with ease.  A recent deployment, involved delivery of real-time data to 300+ end users, integrating data from 12 different external data sources, with integrated "on-the-fly" GIS validation and enrichment is representative of our core GIS capabilities.
